At RAIN (“RAIN,” the “Company,” the “Data Controller,” “We,” “Us,” or “Our”), we take your privacy seriously and are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with international standards for data storage and processing. This Privacy and Cookie Policy explains how RAIN, an expert network recruitment agency focused on temporary consulting engagements, processes personal data collected from individuals. In accordance with our legal obligations, we provide a “privacy notice” or “fair processing notice” to inform individuals how their data is processed. Here we describe in detail our practices regarding the collection, storage, and use of personal data relating to individuals whom we engage for temporary consulting assignments or other projects.
The term “personal data” in this document includes any information that falls within the definition of personal data under the GDPR, as well as “personal information” as defined by the CCPA, the PIPL, or any other applicable data protection legislation.
Personal Data We Collect and Process
RAIN collects, stores, and processes personal data relating to individuals engaged in our consulting projects. The categories of personal data we process include, but are not limited to:
Full name (first name, last name, maiden name where applicable)
Contact information (home address, email addresses, telephone numbers)
National insurance or social security number
Professional experience (employment history, job titles, qualifications, training, memberships, subject-matter expertise, and CV/resume information)
Payment information relating to completed projects
Financial information, including bank account details and identifiers for payment services such as PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, and similar platforms
Responses to project-specific screening questions
Technical information, including IP address, browser type, time zone, location, operating system, and other technologies used to access our website
Where your consent is required for the processing of your personal data, you have the right to access, update, or withdraw your consent at any time.
How We Collect Your Data
RAIN may collect your personal data in a variety of ways, including:
Directly from you (by telephone, email, surveys, our website, or other communication channels)

From publicly available sources (such as publications on professional websites including PubMed and ResearchGate, clinical trial databases, and professional social networking platforms such as LinkedIn)
From time to time, members of our team may contact you to verify the accuracy of the personal information we hold.
Special Category Data
At RAIN, our data processing practices prioritize protecting the rights and freedoms of individuals. We do not engage in automated decision-making or profiling to evaluate individuals, nor do we conduct large-scale monitoring of publicly accessible areas. Furthermore, we do not process sensitive personal data – including information relating to racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, genetic or biometric data used for unique identification, or information concerning health, sexual orientation, or sex life – unless required by law or provided with your explicit consent. In addition, we do not process information relating to criminal convictions or criminal offenses in any form.
In the exceptional circumstances where processing sensitive personal data becomes necessary to provide our services, we will do so only in strict compliance with applicable legal requirements and with appropriate safeguards in place to protect your rights and freedoms.

For Individuals Located in China
This section primarily applies to individuals located in China, as we process your personal information in accordance with China’s Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL).
We collect, store, and process your personal information for a variety of purposes, including:
Facilitating client engagements and recommending your profile for relevant projects.
Managing client and user profiles for operational support and billing purposes.
Using non-essential cookies and similar technologies.
Performing our contractual obligations and sending relevant notifications.
Processing payments in accordance with our contractual obligations.
Complying with lawful requests from government authorities.
Carrying out other lawful processing activities.
We may also collect information about you from publicly available online sources and through our interactions with you. Where required, we will always obtain your consent before processing your personal information. With your consent, we may also share your data, including transferring it outside China, provided that the recipient implements appropriate data protection measures in compliance with the PIPL.

This section applies specifically to California residents and supplements the other provisions of this Privacy Policy where we process your personal information in accordance with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

Right to Know: You may request details about the personal information we collect, store, and process, including your name, address, contact information, and any sensitive information you have provided for identity verification purposes. We do not collect or store information relating to race, health status, or sexual orientation.
Right of Access: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you. We may require identity verification before fulfilling your request.
Right to Deletion: You may request that we delete your personal information from our systems and, where applicable, from our clients’ records, subject to legal retention requirements.
Right to Opt Out: You may opt out of the sharing of your personal information for behavioral advertising purposes by updating your cookie preferences.
Right to Correction: You have the right to update or correct your personal information.
Right to Restrict Processing: You may request restrictions on the processing and sharing of your sensitive personal information, which we will process only to the extent necessary to fulfill our contractual obligations.
RAIN maintains a secure and up-to-date database containing information about experts participating in our projects. This information is stored in encrypted files and secure cloud storage, both protected by multi-factor authentication, and is used exclusively for purposes related to your professional expertise and participation in our projects. Access to your personal information is restricted to authorized RAIN employees who have received appropriate data protection training and require such access in order to fulfill our contractual obligations to you and our clients.
If you decide to withdraw or modify your consent to participate in the RAIN expert network, simply notify RAIN’s Data Protection Officer using the contact details provided below, and we will promptly update or remove your information as required by applicable law.
With respect to cookies, we aggregate website usage information to create datasets that help us analyze and improve our services. These anonymous, aggregated datasets do not directly affect your rights or freedoms and are not considered personal data.
Although RAIN has implemented robust organizational, technical, and physical security measures to protect personal information, please note that no online transmission or data processing system can be completely secure. Despite our best efforts, we cannot guarantee absolute security during data transmission.
RAIN may share your personal information with the following organizations where required by law or applicable data protection regulations:
Local authorities, to comply with legal obligations, including matters relating to public safety.
Family members or authorized representatives acting on your behalf, where appropriate authorization has been provided.
Clients (including consultants), where necessary to deliver project-related services.
Financial institutions.
Regulatory authorities and government agencies, where required for regulatory compliance, legal proceedings, fraud investigations, or other lawful requests.
Professional advisers, including accountants and legal counsel, who are themselves subject to confidentiality obligations.
Healthcare and social care organizations.
In the event of a business restructuring, merger, or acquisition, your personal information may be transferred, and you will be notified accordingly.
At present, we do not share your personal information with unrelated third parties. Any future sharing outside the purposes described above will require your consent.
You have the right to request access to your personal information held by RAIN by submitting a Data Subject Access Request. Where we process your personal information, we will provide: a description of the personal information we hold; the purposes for which it is processed; the source from which it was obtained; any recipients to whom it may be disclosed; and a copy of your personal information in an understandable format. You may also have the right to request that your personal information be transferred electronically to another organization. In addition, under applicable data protection legislation, you may have the right to:
object to the processing of your personal information;
object to the use of your information for direct marketing;
request correction or deletion of inaccurate personal information;
request restriction of processing;
request pseudonymization of your personal information;
opt out of profiling for marketing purposes;
temporarily restrict processing;
request data portability; and
seek compensation for damages resulting from data protection violations.
Access to and correction of your personal information is generally provided free of charge. However, we may charge a reasonable fee for repetitive or excessive requests. Before fulfilling any request, we may ask you to verify your identity. Please contact our Data Protection Officer if you wish to exercise any of these rights.
In the event of a personal data breach, RAIN responds promptly in accordance with its role under applicable data protection legislation. Where RAIN acts as the Data Controller, our employees are trained to report any suspected personal data breach to the Data Protection Officer (DPO) at dpo@rainpartners.ua within 12 hours of becoming aware of the incident. The DPO will assess the breach and notify the appropriate supervisory authority within 48 hours where required. If the breach is likely to result in a high risk to affected individuals, we will notify those individuals within 72 hours.
Where RAIN acts as the Data Processor and the client is the Data Controller, employees must likewise report any suspected breach to the DPO within 12 hours. The DPO will then notify the client within 48 hours and provide all relevant information required for the client’s own reporting obligations. Clients who suspect a potential data breach relating to services provided by RAIN should also contact the DPO immediately.
This rapid response process is designed to ensure effective incident management and minimize potential risks to both RAIN and our clients while maintaining compliance with applicable data protection laws.

He has experience in startup projects as a co-founder, manager, or functional lead, including: a full-service digital marketing agency (2016–present), a product IT company (2022–present), a food production and export business (2021–present), and an online retail business (2009–2014).
He received business education in Ukraine and Germany. He is fluent in English, German, and Spanish.
More than 20 years of experience in investment project evaluation, new business concept development, strategy formulation and implementation, and building effective management teams.
His focus includes company restructuring, operational improvements, market research and new project evaluation, change management, and the implementation of solutions that create value for companies and entrepreneurs. He has completed more than 100 projects of varying complexity. He also has experience building several successful businesses from the ground up.
His deepest industry experience includes residential, commercial, and industrial real estate, trade, energy efficiency, healthcare, steel manufacturing, apparel, industrial lubricants, and others.
He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder and is fluent in English and French.
